My name is
- Calliope Barci.

Ever since she was a little girl, Calliope Barci was infatuated with fashion, from arranging her own outfits for school to collecting fashion magazines and runway scrapbooks. Calliope majored in Economics at the American College of Greece, but her passion for design and clothes was still strong and in 2018 she earned a degree with Honors in Fashion Design from the Middlesex University of London.

During her studies, Calliope took an interest in folklore and its influence on fashion design. It was the memories of her grandmother, the woman who brought her up, and their shared pastime of knitting that sparked her inspiration to design her own collection of handmade knitwear. Volumes are a central element in her designs as well as braided patterns like the ones in her grandmother’s knitwork. Hours of work brought her intricate designs to life, with each of her 100% handmade and natural wool knits embodying both Calliope’s past and her vision for the future.

In November 2020, Calliope showcases her collection at the 27th Athens Xclusive Designers Week (AXDW) and participates in the New Designers Awards. She is currently working as an Art Director while developing her own designs. Her plans for the future include the launching of her online store,, with a dream that Greek designs and folklore will soon be featured in department stores around the world.
